Do you really care that Apple stores your location data?

You may have heard the fuzz. Especially if you own an idevice, like the iPad or the iPhone. So apparently some dudes discovered that Apple stores your location data in a hidden file. To be honest, when I heard about this I really didn't give a damn. I mean, I have nothing to hide and the location is stored anonymously. So why are so many people worried about this? Can someone lighten me up?

As you may have guessed, I have an iPhone 4 and I'm in love with it. Everything about it is great except for that it's made out of glass and that I need to be very careful with it. I think Apple has delivered a product as never seen before and the fact that my iPhone stored all my location data doesn't change my opinion about Apple.

Anyways, Apple has fixed the "bug" in iOS 4.3.3 update. Hopefully people will stop whining about this and enjoy their idevices.

  7. I don't care, but I do hate when it'll post your locations on facebook automatically. I don't have it on to do that, but some of my friends do and it gets old quick.

  10. Well, some people have that kind of paranoia about all those conspiracy theories and governmental control. That is why they freak out when something personal is somehow extracted from whatever activities they do. I personally don't think that someone ever would need my location and could use it in some bad way. On the other hand - it's possible to do that since it's not some kind of a crazy technology. But there are also sooo many other ways how to find out personal info, so i wouldn't worry about Apple alone. Just be careful on the internet and you'll be ok.

  12. I only care if they somehow use this data to profit or if they sell the data. Really don't want companies knowing my every move.

  13. I don't necessarally mind if Apple stores the info. The problem is OTHER people can track the info as well. THATS what scares me.

Thankfully I'm not one of those people.

  23. its not anonymous though, anyone with access to your computer or phone knows exactly where you've been for a year, and hopefully they'd know who's phone they're using.

They've now fixed it so it overwrites the file every week, so not really an issue anymore.
