You may or may nothave heard about Tor. It's this FireFox addon browser that let's you surf the internet anonymously through encryption and proxy servers. Problem is, it requires both a browser extension and a standalone app to work. Leaving most of us horribly confused. So the Tor team decided to create its own fork of Firefix with private browsing feautures baked in. So the other benefit of this is that Tor will not have to wait on Mozilla to fix the bugs that affect privacy and security.
But for now: happy anonymous browsing!

Do not forget, the information about your operating system (os) and information about your browser will still be transmitted! Downloading files bigger than 10 to 15MB will take a lot of time and holds up the whole system of proxies! So please turn off Tor/ Privoxy before downloading. Somebody might say: 'Hey I am gonna do some forbidden stuff and nobody knows it's me!' .. just don't. Some information will still be transmitted!
And Javascript will be turned of by Tor as they are a security thread (and they are!) so it is up to you when to turn Tor on and when not to. ;)

BeantwoordenVerwijderenI used Tor to access .onion sites or the "deep web" and it wasn't that great. An individual site took at least 5 minutes to load, and there really wasn't anything "secret" or any hidden treasures. There's a reason it's hidden and not indexed by Google.
